I came to NYSD with the intention of bettering my skills in construction but came out learning more than just that in a few months. The school is open for anyone who has an interest in fashion and has the drive to learn more about it. But the faculty and your peers become your second family and I feel that NYSD has become my second home. NYSD empowers aspiring fashion designers at all stages with a range of programs. Whether you’re just starting your design journey or seeking to refine your skills, we offer Foundation, Certificate, and Professional programs. Our multi-tiered pathways will equip you with the knowledge and expertise you need to succeed. With a very intense, rigorous and hands-on training programs, the students always manage to emerge as fashion designers, fashion technical designers or even fashion entrepreneurs, always armed with very impressive portfolios.
Parsons School of Design
The fashion industry is a highly competitive battleground, and to emerge victorious, designers must have a keen eye for cultural shifts or changes in taste. This course gives students the skills they’ll need to gather data from various sources and make educated predictions based on verifiable information. Our course delves deep into the various drawing skills designers will need to produce exquisite illustrations, including how to draw clothing folds, how to add details and ornamentation, and how to ensure the proper body proportions. The game changes in an online learning environment because online-guided questions, interactive study, and one-on-one time with instructors are pillars of these courses.
Program Outcomes
Welcome to New York School of Design, located in the heart of New York City’s iconic Garment District. Additional Location The two-year AAS in Fashion Design is offered in Incheon, South Korea, as part of FIT at SUNY Korea. The gallery is located at the northwest corner of Seventh Avenue and 27th Street. Three Fashion Design students were recognized at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for a dress commemorating the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire.
Vogue Summer School is a pre-college program designed to educate and professionally prepare young adult fashion enthusiasts between the ages of 15 and 18. Those admitted can choose to attend either as day students or residential students, staying in a supervised, dorm-like facility across the street from their classrooms at the General Electric Building in Midtown East. While it’s true that fashion is constantly changing, it’s also constantly repurposing and pulling inspiration from the past, which is why studying fashion history is so crucial. This course includes lessons on all the major fashion periods, equipping students with a thorough understanding of style progression over time. For Tobias, the most rewarding aspect of the week is to offer a platform to a diverse student body that spans from recent high school graduates to people of retirement age, many of whom have faced significant challenges in their personal lives. Joshua Yoon, a digital UX/UI student, will be taking part in his department’s showcase. This will be Yoon’s first time sharing his work with an audience, presenting a website prototype inspired by one of his favorite bands, Lord Huron. More junior students generally focus on behind the scenes work, while those further along in their studies take center stage. When speaking to the students, it becomes clear that, while their projects come directly from their coursework, the Arts Month events are more than just another assignment.
Candidates for the award were industry partners, including board members and alumni who have shown continued support. NYSD’s Fashion Technical Design is an intensive training program encompassing fashion design, apparel construction, and production techniques.
